Up to half of all women experience weakness in both the abdominal muscles and pelvic floor muscles after pregnancy and up to a third still have a tummy gap at eight weeks post-birth. This can cause instability or poor core strength leading to women developing pelvic or back pain or bladder, bowel and sexual dysfunction.
These conditions can be successfully treated with physiotherapy!!
Your appointment will include:
- Full postural screen.
- Pelvic floor muscle assessment (internal).
- Abdominal muscle exam to check for any separation.
- Screening for bladder, bowel or sexual dysfunction.
- A written report of the findings of your assessment.
- Bespoke rehabilitation programme outline, based on the assessment findings, with your goals and lifestyle factors incorporated.
All the benefits of the MummyMOT appointment with an additonal follow up appointment.
Your appointment will include:
- Full MummyMOT Assessment as outline above (90min appointment)
- Follow up appointment (60min appointment) in 2 weeks time after your initial MummyMOT appointment to catch up and review your progress, limitations, questions and worries, but also to update your exercises based on your feedback and longer term goals.

Women’s Health still is (sadly) at times seen as a bit of a taboo subject and hence, MANY women do not speak up when they are experiencing problems.
In fact, more than 60% of women have at least one symptom of poor pelvic floor health (Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists), which can happen at any age and stage in life (regardless if you have had children or not).
The Menopause MOT helps identify any weaknesses and gives you exercises, knowledge and tools to move forward with the next stage in your life.
Please get in touch if you suffer from any of the following:
- Urinary and pelvic floor muscle dysfunction
- Urinary stress incontinence
- Urgency urinary incontinence
- Mixed urinary incontinence
- Overactive bladder

Take a degree in sports science or do a personal training course!?
Alternatively, hire a personal trainer with a solid knowledge of a human anatomy and physiology a.k.a PHYSIOTHERAPIST with STRENGTH & CONDITIONING knowledge and ask them why you’re working out the way you are.
I will be more than happy to help you!
From gentle Pilates to full on S&C session, my mission is to help people develop confidence in their own bodies and abilities, to build strength and to enjoy the active lifestyle.
